A Claremont NH area employer is in immediate need of an experienced Buyer. This is a full-time first shift position offering $22/hour and generous benefits. Duties: Evaluate negotiate and purchase materials equipment and supplies from vendors Initiate purchase orders and amendments for materials services and/or special tools; arrange for submission and inspection of sample products; ensure timely execution of product and services sourcing activities Resolve billing and shipping problems and provide information to suppliers Manage raw material inventory levels and schedule availability of purchased items to meet production schedules Secure and analyze quotes negotiate prices and terms with suppliers and recommend suppliers with respect to cost quality and delivery competitiveness Study market prices trends developments and manufacturing method improvements; advise company activities with concurrence of materials manager plant manager and/or executive management Identify and interview prospective suppliers to determine supply capabilities transportation logistics inventory control and management Create and maintain supplier metrics to assess quality of service product and process; communicate metrics to suppliers as appropriate and track corrective actions to completion Coordinate quality matters and engineering changes/developments between company activities and suppliers Ensure compliance with company policies and business practices Requirements: Bachelor's degree in business administration economics or engineering (experience may be considered in lieu of a degree) 5 to 7 years of progressively responsible purchasing and materials control experience in a manufacturing environment Project team leadership is a plus Proficient computer skills: MS Windows MS Office applications (Word Excel Power Point) Strong working knowledge of ERP / MRP systems Negotiation problem solving and decision-making skills Capable of influencing key stake holders collecting critical inputs and facilitate collective solutions Strong communication interpersonal and organizational skills Capable to work independently handle changing priorities and short time constraints Hours: Monday to Friday 7:30 am - 4 pm TPI Staffing has been matching job seekers with local companies for over 30 years.
